Josie Roll is a Licensed Social Worker in the state of Ohio. Josie obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Wright State University. Her goal while working at Poppy’s is to have the flexibility to return to college for her Master’s Degree in Social Work while supporting her dog’s BarkBox subscription. She has trained extensively in Functional Family Therapy, working for 3 years providing in-home therapy. Josie is also trained in mindfulness interventions, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing and utilizes a Person Centered Therapy perspective. She believes that everyone has their own unique strengths and wants to meet you where you are.

 

It is her goal to create a warm, engaging environment to help you meet your goals. Josie’s initial focus is building a strong rapport with the individuals and families she works with, which is clinically proven to create the most successful therapy outcomes. She utilizes both telehealth and in person therapy intervention options. She is interested in working with adolescents, adults, and families. As a person of lived experience, Josie’s particular strengths include working with people in the LGBTQ+ community, traumatic stress, depression, childhood trauma related to family substance use, and anxiety.

 

As a dependently licensed social worker, Josie works under supervision. This ensures that she is providing the highest quality of care possible, and provides you with a person to contact, should you ever need to. Josie’s supervisor is Asia Williams, LPCC-S.
